LORI aims to inform and sensitize the public for the acceptance of members of sexual and gender minorities, removing prejudices and homo/bi/transphobia, abolishing discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation, gender identity and/or gender expression and the realization of actual equality before the law.
How can it help you
Information center
The center includes an Internet center and Information center. In the Internet center, members can freely use IT equipment and have access to the Internet. The info library consists of LGBTIQ and feminist literature, as well as literature related to human rights in general. It also includes magazines, videos and DVD materials which are available to all members and other interested persons. Presentations, movie nights and the like are also organized within the Information center. The center is a source of information for people interested in LGBTIQ topics, especially because of the lack of associated literature in public institutions, libraries, etc.
Psychosocial support
LORI organizes psychological workshops, cooperates with psychologists and participates in forums at the Department of Psychology of the Faculty of Philosophy in Rijeka annualy.
The psychological counseling center offers individual counseling/psychotherapy for members of sexual and gender minorities. It also offers online counseling related to family issues experienced by LGBTIQA+ people, as well as peer counseling. Psychological counseling is conducted by LGBT-friendly and informed psychologists, while peer counseling (in person, by phone and online) is conducted by peer counselors, i.e. activists who have undergone training in basic psychological counseling skills.
