The Association for the Promotion of Inclusion (UPI) is a non-governmental, non-profit and humanitarian organization.
It encourages and supports the process of deinstitutionalization of people with intellectual disabilities in Croatia and the region, and strives to develop models of community-based professional support services and to encourage the development of such models by various service providers.
How can it help you
Legal aid
UPI provides free legal advice and professional assistance to persons with disabilities and their families, association and other interested parties.
Organized housing service
The organized housing service is intended for all persons with intellectual disabilities who need support to live in the community (persons who have been deinstitutionalized and persons whose institutionalization is to be prevented).
Organized housing is carried out in rented apartments or apartments owned by people who receive support. One to five people live in one apartment, according to their wishes and need for support. Each person is provided with support in all areas of life (housing, work and free time). People are supported in order to, as much as is viable, adopt skills related to the responsible handling of money, taking care of themselves and their apartment, preparing food, using public transport and creating and maintaining friendships and acquaintances.
The UPI Organized Housing service is implemented in accordance with the principles of a personally oriented approach and active support.
