Strikes are a legal way to defend the demands of workers, for example, regarding working conditions, pay levels, or job cuts.

A strike is a means of resolving a collective interest dispute wherein employees or a group of employees of a branch of an undertaking voluntarily, completely or in part, discontinue work in order to attain the fulfilment of demands. A strike is a final means to an end and is only permissible when negotiations have failed to result in an agreement.

The right to strike is not unrestricted and is only permitted in select cases following a certain procedure.
