If you contact the Ombudsperson, they or their deputies or advisors will review your case. In doing so, you may be asked you for additional documentation so that the Ombudsperson can get to know your case as well as possible and decide what measures to take within their jurisdiction to help you.

An incentive for consideration of an individual case or a general issue concerning endangerment or violation of the rights and interests of persons with disabilities, can be submitted orally or in a written submission by anyone who believes that a right or interest of persons with disabilities is endangered or injured.

Form

To submit your application, fill out the form (the form can be filled out in digital form and saved on the computer).

Language

Submissions to the Ombudsperson for Persons with Disabilities are submitted in the Croatian language and Latin script.

If, certain units of local and regional (regional) self-government, in addition to the Croatian language and the Latin script, introduced another language and another script into official use, the parties who reside in that area can submit submissions in another language or script.

Content

The Ombudsman for Persons with Disabilities, on the basis of a submission or oral suggestion of the party, from which it follows that in a particular case there has been a threat or violation of the rights and interests of persons with disabilities, as well as general phenomena in this regard, as well as suggestions on how to resolve such an issue, undertakes actions that the goal is to protect the rights and interests of persons with disabilities.

  • information about your case
  • information on which other instiutions you contacted

Documents

No addittional documents are needed to complain to the Ombudsperson for Persons with Disabilities. 

Time limits

The Ombudsman for Persons with Disabilities will inform the applicant about the activities undertaken regarding his proposal within 60 days.

Legal Aid

The Ombudsperson for Persons with Disabilities is not authorized to represent parties in administrative and court proceedings.

You do not need a laywer when submittinga complaint with the Ombudsperson for Persons with Disabilities. 

The Ombudsperson and their deputies and advisers can advise you on what actions to take or which executive institution to turn to in order to protect your rights if all measures under the Ombudsperson's jurisdiction have been exhausted or if they are not competent to act in your case.
